The 3rd AAMLS Congress Welcome Message

The 3rd AAMLS Congress will be held in Yokohama, Japan for 2 days from July 30th to 31st, 2009. On behalf of JAMT, I wish to deliver a warm welcome to all of you.

The 1st AAMLS Congress was held in Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia in 2001 and the 2nd was in Shanghai, China in 2005. The 3rd will be held in Yokohama, Japan in 2009. This Congress gives a great opportunity to Biomedical Laboratory Scientists/Medical Technologists as well as the people who are interested in it, to get together every 4 years and learn new knowledge and technologies in the field of Laboratory Medicine/Medical Technology. At the same time, it offers the chance to bring forward the ideas and technologies to the next generations.

The theme of the Congress is “Innovation of Biomedical Laboratory Science from Asia”. This theme was chosen because of our hope to send out the new direction of the laboratory medicine to the world from Asia through this Congress. We will select the hot topics today for the special lecture, educational lecture, and symposium.

Yokohama, the host city of this congress, is situated next to Tokyo. The year 2009 will be the 150th anniversary of opening its port. In this memorable year, we are planning to hold both the 3rd AAMLS Congress and the 58th Japan Association of Medical Technology Congress on the same day in Yokohama. You will have an opportunity to participate in the JAMT Annual Congress and to be exposed to the latest and sophisticated instruments and reagents.
